Long before M Night Shyamalan’s terrible Unbreakable, there was this underrated 1981 Aussie thriller, in which a pilot emerges from the wreckage of his downed 747 completely unharmed.

Directed by former 1960s star David Hemmings, the film continues going all spooky when the survivor (Robert Powell) meets Jenny Agutter’s ghost whispering eyewitness, who is being tormented by the souls of the dead passengers.

The film has a couple of shock moments, a haunting score from Brian May, and the climax will satisfy fans of the paranormal. It’s also the last film for veteran actor Joseph Cotton (of Abominable Dr Phibes
