Jayne Middlemiss, Wendi Peters and Iwan Thomas are getting ready to don their aprons to go head-to-head in the Celebrity MasterChef final.

The trio will have to cook their best three-course meal as they vie for the Celebrity MasterChef 2009 crown under the watchful eyes of John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

Luckily for the celebs, John thinks stars are well placed when it comes to the cooking contest – because they’ve eaten in top restaurants and know good food.
The chef added that stars tend to have a ‘point of reference’ when it comes to dining well.

He said: “They’ve eaten out in good restaurants, they’ve eaten good food, they understand it and I’m sure they’ve been in plenty of restaurants where they’ve criticised the food themselves.

“So they’re coming in here and proving that they are really good cooks. And don’t forget that they have a reputation to uphold. They’ve got all these people out there who admire them and look up to them and think they’re wonderful and actually food is a really good example of your own personality.”

*The Celebrity Masterchef final is on BBC One at 8.30pm on Friday*
