Tulisa: Sex tape scandal has made me stronger

Tulisa Contostavlos has spoken out about her sex tape scandal, after the intimate moment was leaked online last month.

X Factor judge Tulisa said: “People are always going to judge you and that’s fine – I couldn’t care less – but let them judge you on the truth.”

After the tape – filmed with former boyfriend, Justin Edwards – was leaked online, Tulisa issued an emotional statement on the internet, admitting her part in the video.

In it, she said: “I am devastated and heartbroken. When you share an intimate moment with someone that you love and trust, you never imagine for one minute that footage may at any point be shared with the rest of the UK.”

But on Thursday she said: “I don’t regret a thing,” insisting that she reacted in the right way. “Don’t just ignore it – directly deal with it. Everyone always feels it’s best to ignore things and leave it, but I don’t believe that.

“I could sit all day long saying I wish I’d never done this or met that person but at the end of the day, with the position I’m in, I can’t exactly complain.

“Everything’s taken me to the place that I’m in and made me the person I am. It just makes you stronger, doesn’t it?”

Her comments follow the recent confirmation of her place as a judge on the next series of the X Factor, alongside Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow.

Of the TV talent show, Tulisa says: “I’m growing as a person, so you might see a change in me simply because I’m growing up, but I’m just going to be me. Whatever comes out, comes out.”
