Caroline Flack is poised to get her own back on Simon Cowell – by signing for reality TV rival show Strictly Come Dancing.

Caroline, 35, hosted  ITV2 spinoff The Xtra Factor for three years – but was recently told her contract on the show would not be renewed.

Despite the on-screen chemistry with co-presenter Olly Murs, she was replaced by Radio 1 DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford.

Caroline was in Ibiza when she found out the crushing news.

But now it seems she is in talks to jump channels and compete on the ever popular Strictly – which beat X Factor in the ratings battle last winter.

“Caroline is considering her options but she’s always been a big fan of Strictly,” a source told the Sun.

“She knows it could be her next big step and it would be nice to beat Simon in the ratings.”

Dancer Brendan Cole also backed Caroline to appear, saying: “She’d be great, definitely. That would be amazing.”

Strictly bosses are keen to sign the best ever line-up to keep viewers happy after Sir Bruce Forsyth retired as the show’s long-running host.

Strictly Come Dancing will return with a new series on BBC1 in the autumn.
