Comedy thriller Mad Dogs about four old friends who get together to relive the good old days on a lads’ holiday is set to be remade for the US.
The Sky1HD black comedy starring John Simm, Philip Glenister, Max Beesley and Marc Warren is set to end after the fourth series, but the actors revealed an American version is in the works.
Speculating who would play their characters in the US adaptation Max said: “I think Don Johnson would play Phil’s part, Malcolm McDowell would play Marc’s part, and Matt Damon would play my part. John, who would play you?”
John quipped: “I don’t know, maybe Sandra Bullock?”
But the actors insist they won’t watch the American version.
The third series of the show is about to return to Sky 1 on Tuesday, and the lads have already filmed the final series. But they insist they do all love working together and are keen to find another project to collaborate on.
John, who worked with Philip on Life On Mars, said: “I don’t think me and Phil are allowed to work together any more, we’re always discussing if we can get away with it. We’re pushing it now. Me and Phil have worked together every year for the past 10 years so I think we’ll have to find something else to do. But we’d love to work together again and we’re trying to work it out.”
