Viewers mock the size and height of the The Jump as Channel 4 show gets underway...perhaps they should give it a go themselves!
It’s meant to strike fear, dread and suspense into our hearts and leave contestants quaking in their ski boots, however The Jump viewers just aren’t convinced by the actual jump itself.
The 2017 series of the snow sports competition got underway this evening and, as usual, the celebrities who lose their rounds have to tackle the jump or face going home.
But as Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews took on the leap in a bid to hang onto his spot in the competition, many fans were questioning whether it wasn’t more of “a drop” than a jump.
Some even called it “a hop” and the word “skip” was also being bandied around on Twitter.
Ooh harsh! Meanwhile Sir Bradley Wiggins got The Jump off to a cheeky start by swearing within the first few minutes. Asked by host Davina McCall why he had signed up to do the accident-laden show, the Olympic cyclist joked, “To p**s the Daily Mail off!”
His comment may have had Davina in a bit of a tizz, as she apologised to viewers for the expletive, but fans LOVED it.
Naughty Sir Bradley! Davina, who’s presented all three previous shows of The Jump and is used to live TV and far worse swearing thanks to her days presenting Big Brother, was quick to give Bradley a ticking off saying, “You’re not allowed to say that at this time of night!”
The Jump continues next Sunday on Channel 4.
