An NHS ad was the most complained-about ad in a year that complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority hit a new high.
The NHS anti-smoking ad, featuring an office worker literally being hooked then dragged through his office, received 774 official complaints, making it one of the top 10 most controversial ads of all time.
There were more than 14,000 complaints about TV ads in 2007 and twice as many complaints about violent ads than there were in 2006.
Others which made the top five most complained-about ads included those advertising Trident chewing gum, MFI, Quorn and Rustlers burgers.
