TV Times top picks for tonigh

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Saturday 21st July

The Voice Kids Final, 8pm, ITV

After a thrilling week of blind auditions, hard-fought battles and a nail-biting semi-final, the remaining six young singers will take to the stage tonight for the grand final of The Voice Kids 2018, with Emma Willis on hand to oversee proceedings (and comfort the disappointed). Up to now our pint-sized performers have only had to impress coaches Danny Jones, Pixie Lott and will.i.am. But now they must sing live for the first time for viewers’ votes! With a £30,000 bursary towards their music education, and a family holiday to Disneyland Paris up for grabs, who will be crowned champion of The Voice Kids? Rating: ****

Blind Date, 7pm, Channel 5

Tonight’s brave singletons include a Marilyn Monroe impersonator, a male model, a musician and a female body builder, all ready to give slightly cringe-worthy answers to find the partner of their dreams. But they’re all upstaged by Mr O’Grady when one of the girls dares him to try twerking! As always, Paul will also be catching up with last week’s couples – lucky Plum and James, who went on a date to Sri Lanka, and Jose and Laura, who took flamenco lessons in Barcelona. Rating: ****

Anniversary Games, 1.15pm, BBC1

The great and the good from the world of athletics descend on the capital over the next two days to compete in the Anniversary Games at the London Stadium. The biggest names will be there, including our own heptathlete champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who will be taking to the runway for the long jump today. She’s also competing in the high jump on Sunday – which will see her go up against fellow Brit Morgan Lake. The games are also a major date for Para events, and the best British Para-athletes, including T47 long jump star Polly Maton and T54 200m champion Richard Chiassaro, will be vying with the world’s best, too.
