Lore DVD

This competition is now closed. The winners are Mark Holbrook, Andrew Penny and Alison Sherwood.

From Australian director Cate Shortland (The Secret of Us) comes the stunning and frank war film LORE, loosely based on the Booker shortlisted 2001 novel The Dark Room by Rachel Seiffert.

In south-western Germany in May 1945, Lore (Saskia Rosendahl) and her four younger siblings find themselves stranded after their Nazi parents are imprisoned in the immediate aftermath of World War II. Lore then leads the remains of her family towards Husum Bay near Hamburg some 900km away in search of her grandmother and, along the way, encounters Thomas, a young Jewish refugee who begins to follow and help them. Lore soon finds herself torn between hatred and desire for Thomas, and as the consequences of her parent’s actions and beliefs slowly become apparent, she must begin to face the darkness within herself…

Out on Blu-ray and DVD from Artificial Eye on Monday 27 May, we have three copies of the DVD to give away. To be in the draw, all you need to do is answer the following question correctly by filling out the form below.

Q: Which Germany town does Lore lead her family in Cate Shortland’s war film?
