The X Factor girl group Hope are currently winning the battle of the bands and could be on their way to winning this year’s show, according to bookies.
The quintet, who were put together from solo singer rejects during boot camp, are the favourites to win the talent contest on odds of 7/2, just ahead of their nearest rivals Futureproof, who are on 4/1.
Ladbrokes spokesman Nick Weinberg said: “Punters are continuing to come for Hope, but Futureproof are proving popular too. Our customers think it’s going to be a battle of the groups, between Hope and Futureproof.”
He added: “The boys were the initial favourites, but Simon Cowell’s gushing praise of the girls last Saturday lead to a run of money for the new market leaders.”
Meanwhile, early outsider Rhydian Roberts is on the up after Saturday’s show.
“Self confessed ‘marmite man’ Rhydian has begun to attract support. If he can put in another good performance, his price should shorten still further,” said Nick.
Brother and sister duo Same Difference remain the show’s outsiders on 40/1.
