Louis Walsh is still in the dark about who will be replacing Dannii Minogue in the forthcoming series of The X Factor.

The Australian mentor, who is due to give birth to her first baby this summer, could miss the auditions for the singing competition, which kick off in June.

Louis said: “The X Factor is coming back, it’s season seven but I don’t know who’s going to be doing it; I’m doing it, with Simon and Cheryl – I don’t know who the fourth judge will be because Dannii’s having her baby so there will be a stand-in.”

“I think Dannii will come back for the live shows but I really don’t know. I hope she’s back – she’s good, she works hard.”

Asked about rumours surrounding celebrities such as Spice Girl Mel B and Kerry Katona, the Irish judge – currently the face of Tango Fake Tan wipes – added: “I heard Mel B, but I don’t know if it’s true. Kerry Katona? That’s definitely not going to happen. No way, no chance. That’s a joke.”

However, Louis has yet to sign on the dotted line, despite the Irish auditions starting in days.

“I’m not signed but I’m definitely doing it. It’s a year on year contract for me. I haven’t even got this year’s one yet and we start in a month’s time,” he explained.
