X Factor: Louis Walsh ‘fuming’ over Adele move

X Factor judge Louis Walsh is reported to be “fuming” after he lost the chance to partner with Adele during the ‘judges’ houses’ stage of the show.

According to the Sunday Mirror Louis had been all set to team up with the chart-topping singer for the crucial round in which the mentors choose their finalists.

However Simon decided at the last minute to replace her with Sinitta instead – much to his annoyance.

The paper claims that Louis sees it as a further disappointment after he was overlooked for the role of head judge following Simon’s departure.

“He was fuming,” an insider said. “He saw it as yet another snub after he lost out to Gary as head judge.

“One minute he was lined up with an international star who’s the woman of the moment, the next he was lumbered with an 80s has-been whose high point was the questionable number two hit So Macho.

“Adele was really up for it and agreed in principle,” the source added. “Louis was thrilled because he absolutely loves her.

“But he was livid, as a decision was made and it wasn’t up for discussion.”

Sinitta – who was Simon’s on-off girlfriend for 20 years – was his guest mentor on the show every year from 2006.

Louis also told the Sunday Mirror that he fears the show has lost its fun factor underneath the new judging panel.

“I need to keep the fun side of the show going,” he said. “I don’t want it to be all about voice this and voice that. There has to be a little bit about technique, but there has to be fun as well.

“People get bored if it’s just about the singing – you need a little bit of craziness,” Louis added. “You need some strange people involved. I don’t care who wins – I want the show to win. But the others are all in competition.”
