X Factor: Nicole blasts ‘depressing’ girl performers

Nicole Scherzinger lost her cool with her X Factor hopefuls as the show reached boot camp – at one point storming off the set.

In scenes to be screened on Saturday’s show the former Pussycat Dolls singer is seen despairing as the girls deliver a string of lacklustre performances.

And after complaining to Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh that the acts were ‘uninspiring’ she told the girls backstage: “Are you watching these auditions? Not in the best mood right now.”

Nicole added: “Please don’t waste my time. Because I care too much. You need to know what you’re singing about and focus on that song, singing it with all your heart, or else I will not care and you will not get through today.”

Despite the rocky start she has since admitted being ‘blown away’ by the talent on offer this year.

“They are so young but still their voices have developed so much. I am really excited.”

Nicole has been joined by R&B legend Mary J Blige in Antigua to choose her final acts for the live shows.

The first X Factor boot camp show will be aired on Saturday night at the later time of 8.20pm, with the second round on Sunday evening.
