Aiden Grimshaw has revealed that he’d eagerly watch the next series of The X Factor – because Nicole Scherzinger is on it.

The former contestant, who was voted out in the seventh series in 2010, admitted that the former Pussycat Doll – who has joined the judging panel alongside Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos – has definitely got his approval.

“It’s going to increase my chances of having it on every week, especially if Nicole is on it. That’s all I am going to say – hottie!” he said.

“Louis is going to be there until the end of time, isn’t he? He’s the never-changing face of The X Factor. It’s a good show.”

Aiden – who was at the Barclaycard Wireless festival in London’s Hyde Park – has been working on his debut album Misty Eye, which will be released on August 20. The second single, Curtain Call, will be out on August 13.

“The album has taken two years to write, but it feels honest and I think it represents the sort of music I listen to,” he said.

“I was 18 and when you go on a show like The X Factor, it feels mental. I’ve been lucky enough to get a team who have trusted me to do my own thing, grow up and learn some things about me and I’ve been able to write an album that isn’t forced. I’m really happy with it.”
