X Factor reject Jamie Archer’s close friends say that the rocker was deliberately sacrificed by his mentor Simon Cowell.

The 34-year-old’s pals are annoyed with the way he was eliminated from the ITV1 show on Sunday night – and have accused Simon of manipulating the entire show to save his other acts, Danyl Johnson and Olly Murs.

Jamie – nicknamed Jamie Afro – lost out to Welsh teenager Lloyd Daniels in the sing-off despite a rousing rendition of Queen’s The Show Must Go On.

A close pal told The Mirror: “Simon was the only judge with all three acts left – he knew he had to lose someone this week and so he offered up Jamie.

“It doesn’t take a genius to see how he did it. He stuck him first on the bill, which is the worst place to be. He made sure he dressed him in dark clothing so it all looked very drab with no colour.

“He gave him a very average Queen song in Radio Ga Ga and left him there on the stage on his own. There was no production, no backing singers, no choirs, no pyrotechnics like the other contestants had.”

Jamie, who writes and performs his own material, now hopes to carve out a successful recording career.

He added: “I only ever came on The X Factor for people to hear me, so I feel like it is a great platform. I can go on to record an album now in my own style.”
