TV and radio presenter Zoe Ball has announced that she is expecting her second child with DJ husband Norman Cook.

The 39-year-old – who has an eight-year-old son, Woody, told listeners on her Radio 2 show on Saturday morning, “I’ve got some lovely news for you all actually. I’m having a baby.”

She went on to say that she had been looking “green of gills” and was “eating everything in sight”.

Radio 2 controller Bob Sherman was among the first to congratulate the presenter.

“Congratulations to Zoe and Norman in light of the fantastic news that Woody is soon to have a little brother or sister,” he said.

Zoe – the daughter of children’s TV veteran Johnny Ball – sprang to fame as co-presenter of Saturday morning children’s show Live And Kicking in the mid-90s.

More recently she presented ITV’s reality shows Soapstar Superstar and Grease Is The Word, and was a contestant on the 2005 series of Strictly Come Dancing, finishing in 3rd place.

She began her new weekend breakfast slot on Radio 2 in early June.
