Zoe Ball will replace Claudia Winkleman as the host of Strictly Come Dancing‘s sister show It Takes Two.

Zoe, who came third on the BBC1 dancing show in 2005, is believed to have beaten Natasha Kaplinsky and Denise Van Outen to the BBC2 job.

Zoe, 40, told The Sun: “I’m giddy with glee and I may even have slipped into a celebratory cha-cha-cha, although technically not a very good one.

“Having been a contestant myself and hosted the Strictly Come Dancing Tour, it would be fair to say I’m obsessed. I love everything Strictly.”

Zoe is excited to be replacing Claudia, who is due to give birth to her third child a few weeks before the show begins in the autumn.

She added: “I can’t wait to start this thrilling adventure.”

It Takes Two brings Strictly fans all the backstage gossip from the daily training sessions throughout the series.

Producer Moira Ross said: “With Zoe’s first-hand experience of the series, she’s the perfect person to give viewers all the insider knowledge, gossip and news from this year’s show.”
