Former Bad Girls and EastEnders actress Nicola Stapleton guest stars in
The Bill this week as a woman called Louise Gates, who finds herself at
the centre of a murder investigation
Louise and her pub landlord boyfriend Nick are questioned by DS Max Carter and DC Mickey Webb when the badly beaten body of a man, Liam Powell, is found in an alleyway near the pub
Louise and Nick inform the Sun Hill detectives that although Liam had been drinking in the pub the night before, the pub’s CCTV camera doesn’t work, so there are no images from the previous evening
Later, DS Carter and DC Terry Perkins arrive at Liam’s house
PC Kirsty Knight joins the detectives in their hunt for clues about Liam’s murder
Inside the house, the cops are shocked to find Liam’s two young children, Archie and Rose, filthy and starving and living in squalor
Terrified that the cops will separate him and his sister, Archie gets hysterical
Kirsty tries to coax young Rose out from under her bed covers…
Can the Sun Hill cop convince the terrified little girl that everything will be OK?
Meanwhile, DS Max Carter pays a visit to Liam’s neighbour, Dave
It turns out that Dave used to look after Liam’s children when their father had left them home alone…
…but that had stopped recently as Liam had accused Dave of being inappropriate with the children
Does Dave know more about the family than he is letting on?
Elsewhere, it seems Louise has been less than honest with the police. They’ve discovered CCTV footage from the alleyway that shows Liam arguing with Louise on the night he was killed!
Why was Louise so determined to keep the row with Liam a secret? Watch the action unfold on ITV1’s The Bill on Tuesday, July 27
