DI Neil Manson and DC Grace Dasari fall out when he accuses her of keeping him in the dark over the team’s handling of a sensitive investigation.
The case began last week when PCs Leon Taylor and Ben Gayle were called to a woodland area where a young boy’s body has been discovered.
The body is quickly identified as that of missing youngster Matty Wallace. While investigating the case, DS Max Carter discovers the boy’s stepdad, Craig Gant, has links to known criminals and puts him under surveillance at Matty’s funeral.
When Neil finds out, he lays into Grace, furious that he wasn’t told about the operation. He then warns her that her position of Family Liaison Officer is under threat.
Grace then accuses Neil of being distracted, telling him his lack of
involvement in the case has given Max the opportunity to take it over. Will Neil finally open up about his son’s leukaemia battle?
Later, Max puts Grace in an awkward spot when he tells her to quiz Matty’s grieving grandmother about Gant. Will she go ahead and put her career on the line? Find out when the gripping two-part story concludes on Tuesday, 18 May (not STV).
